  33.                                | game for Windows. It includes VBCARDS.DLL
  34.                                | which is required by other shareware card
  35.                                | games.

  37.                                | a game of Blackjack for Windows. You can
  38.                                | double down, split, buy insurance, and more.
  39.                                | The program is fast, with well-done graphics
  40.                                | and animation. This is an excellent
  41.                                | simulation, with many playing options

  45.                                | advanced casino blackjack game for Windows.
  46.                                | Features include animated dealing, card
  47.                                | counting help, win/loss statistics, a tutor,
  48.                                | and much more. You can double down, split,
  49.                                | buy insurance, and surrender. The tutor can
  50.                                | also automatically pop up to offer help from
  51.                                | several different playing strategies.
  52. BRIDGEWN.ZIP   229682  12-06-93  Bridge For Windows (Full Circle Software;
  53.                                | $53) is a simple bridge game for novices. It
  54.                                | deals random hands, but picks the best for
  55.                                | you and the second best hand for your
  56.                                | partner, so you don't ever get to defend.
  57.                                | You always bid first, which limits the type
  58.                                | of bidding you do. The bidding and play of
  59.                                | the game are pretty weak. The user interface
  60.                                | is cluttered, very slow, poorly designed,
  61.                                | and buggy. To add insult to injury, the $49
  62.                                | (plus $4 shipping) registration fee is much
  63.                                | higher than retail bridge games (available
  64.                                | from PsL) like Omar Sharif ($39) and Bridge
  65.                                | 7 ($35), both of which are much more
  66.                                | sophisticated. So why are we adding this
  67.                                | program? Well, for one thing, despite its
  68.                                | shortcomings, it should be enjoyable for
  69.                                | novices, and it is the only shareware bridge
  70.                                | game for Windows. (A shareware bridge game
  71.                                | for DOS is in the library, but is only
  72.                                | marginally better.) In addition, we have
  73.                                | seen this program raved about in other
  74.                                | shareware catalogs which charge you for TWO
  75.                                | disks, the second of which just has VBRUN100
  76.                                | on it.
  77. CRIBWIN.EXE     44369  08-07-92  Cribbage for Windows 1.1 (RR Enterprises;
  78.                                | $20) is the card game Cribbage. Features
  79.                                | include having the computer play a hard or
  80.                                | easy game, and the Fair or Cheat mode, in
  81.                                | which you can see the computer's cards. You
  82.                                | have to restart the program after every game.
  83. CSBTUT.EXE     114098  03-03-93  CardShark Bridge Tutor Level I (Ford, Nelson
  84.                                | ASP; $25) assumes you know absolutely
  85.                                | nothing about bridge and teaches you
  86.                                | everything you need to know to bid and play
  87.                                | a good, sound game. It is also a good review
  88.                                | course for experienced players. This is an
  89.                                | interactive tutorial which displays deals,
  90.                                | asks frequent questions for reinforcement,
  91.                                | and has review quizzes. Level I consists of
  92.                                | one course on Play and four on Bidding: (1)
  93.                                | Intro to Bridge & Opening Bids, (2)
  94.                                | Responding to Opening Bids, (3) Rebids by
  95.                                | Opener, (4) Competitive Bidding. The course
  96.                                | on Play covers basic offense and defensive
  97.                                | play. Advanced course files are commercially
  98.                                | available covering intermediate and advanced
  99.                                | bidding and play, conventions, specific
  100.                                | bidding systems, etc.
  101. CSHEARTS.ZIP   355339  12-02-93  CardShark Hearts 4.07 (Ford, Nelson ASP;
  102.                                | $29) lets you play Hearts against three
  103.                                | computer hands. Features include an
  104.                                | AutoPlay/Hint mode, Show All Hands,
  105.                                | automatic cash-in when one hand has all high
  106.                                | cards remaining or when all points are in,
  107.                                | animated players with digitized sounds, user
  108.                                | selectable playing styles and strengths, and
  109.                                | the ability to change your mind after
  110.                                | selecting a card but before playing it.
  111.                                | Other features include a "Duplicate" mode,
  112.                                | which lets the computer replay your hand
  113.                                | against the other computerized players, a
  114.                                | Ten/Jack of Diamonds = -10 option, and many
  115.                                | other rules options. This is one Hearts game
  116.                                | you will have a tough time beating. A mouse
  117.                                | is required.
  118. ECNEUQ.ZIP     126582  07-31-93  Ecneuqes 1.1 (Smith, Matthew L.; $10) is an
  119.                                | unusual combination board/card game. The
  120.                                | object of the game is to place chips on the
  121.                                | playing board matching the corresponding
  122.                                | card played from your hand. The first player
  123.                                | with two rows of five chips wins the game.
  124.                                | Features include game save/recall,
  125.                                | multimedia sound support, two levels of play
  126.                                | difficulty, and more. Requires VBRUN300.
